Daughter and I made a day trip to the KC Reptile Show. Scored a Chromatopelma cyanopubescens and a Lasiadora parahybana, both spiderlings. Also bought some small crickets for those and the six other new spiderlings we got in the mail today from Paul Becker: Avicularia amazonica Avicularia versicolor Brachypelma smithi Brachypelma vagans Brachypelma boehmi Grammostola pulchraSome are still too small even for small crickets, so we'll have to feed pieces, unless someone knows of a source for 1-2 week old crix in the Hutchinson area. Can't wait to see what gunnardude got. Exciting!

Yup, the KC show was a very good surprise and doubled my T collection. I picked up a B. smithi and A. chalcodes from Tarantulas, Inc. There was another kid selling T's - I guess he was getting out of the T business (or selling off his roommates stuff ;D) and from him I picked up (2) A. hentzi's, a B. emilia (labeled as a red knee ) and a B vagans. My cooler with a cup of ice worked great and everyone made it home alive. . Everyone got a new home today and everyone was good and hungry. I kept looking at people at the Tarantula Inc table wondering if they were "spidermomma" Maybe we need to get eksas tee shirts ;D All and all we had a great time, had some really good BBQ at Brobecks and checked out the Bass Pro Shop.

Ordered some #10 crix from Crickets Online--I figure what isn't eaten by the little guys will grow up and feed the big ones. We were at the show about 1-2 p.m. on Saturday. I was the one in the red T-shirt that said "The funniest thing about this shirt...". Was hoping for more T vendors, but I got what I went after. The variety of reptiles and amphibians was AMAZING. If only hubby weren't a snake phobe. Those baby pythons were adorable. The price on the baby beardeds was SOOOOOOO tempting. I loved the fact that there were so many parents there with their kids. Gotta love little science geeks. They grow up to have interesting pets.
